Paul Hyatt, 51, of Kingston passed away on Friday, November 22, after struggling with multiple myeloma. He died in the way he had envisioned for himself - peacefully in his home surrounded by those who loved him. He is survived by a daughter, Anique, son-in-law, Christopher, and a raucous collection of friends and former lovers that he counted as family. Paul loved a bargain and hated mayonnaise, unskilled drivers and poor customer service. In accordance with his wishes, the family would like to make mention of his flatulence and surly demeanor - both of which are legendary. Paul's life will be honored with a private ceremonial bonfire in the Spring. He will be deeply and profoundly missed.

I was just back in NY where my family told me Paul died. Paul, or PJ as I knew him, was the rudist, crudest person I have ever met. He was also one of the funniest people to ever exist on this planet. PJ would walk the halls of MJM Junior High School wearing a, "Kill them all, let God sort them out" T-shirt. Teachers would tell him it was inappropriate to wear it. That just inspired him to wear it more often. I have seen anyone anger so many people, so many times using so few words. Everyone I know growing up in Port Ewen has a PJ Hyatt story. I have tons but I read the TOS and none of them would make the cut. Just how a story would start and you could never believe the ending. For example, a story starts out with PJ cutting his toenails on his front porch and ending with him spending the night in jail. Like I said, there are many, many more. I still tell them and most don't believe them. If there was social media back in the 80's, PJ would be a phenomenon. I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye but he would have just farted on me anyway. Goodbye Paul, I will always pass on your legendary tales.

My name is Andy Anderson. I knew Paul from many years ago. Had been to a few rock concerts that were organized by Pete Stott and many house parties one of which was at Brian Allen’s house in Kingston. This one especially brings back memories at it was the one where Paul and I at some point had passed out on the floor under a dining room table and later woke to find ourselves cuddling. I can assure you neither of us violated the other thankfully because that would have just been weird. I have not seen Paul in many years but never the less I remember him and the fun times from our crazy youth back in the day.
My sincere condolences to all his friends and family. Rock on Paul!!!

I am very sorry to hear of this news. Paul was one of a kind. He loved his music and was quite the jokester. I remember his pet tarantula he brought to Miss Rose's 8th grade English class for show and tell. He loved that thing. He was certainly the life of the party. Rest easy Paul. You will be missed. Sending out prayers to his family and friends.

I am very very sad to hear this. He had a beautiful smile and shared his love of music. Prayers for the family. Rest sir. You will be remembered always

I adored Paul. RIP my dear sweet friend.

I’m so very saddened by this news. Paul and I grew up on the same street and always joked about the oddness of all of its residents, including us. He was a good friend, and so very bright and witty.
