Carol White

Carol Ann Lowe White, of Sunset Avenue , Kingston, New York, passed away at her home on May 24, 2025. She was the wife of John W. White, whom she married September 7, 1969. A graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1962, she worked in food services for Red Hook Central School in Red Hook. As her husband’s career with IBM took them throughout the area, Carol and John were active in many local congregations, including St. John’s Reformed Church in Red Hook, and Port Ewen Reformed Church in Port Ewen.

Carol had a no-nonsense personality, and an artistic flair which came out in the work of the crocheting and quilting groups in which she participated and often helped organize, and doll houses and other items which she made on her own. She was generous with what she made, donating freely to the needy, the infirm, and the young in the community. She was also a caring and active neighbor wherever she lived. Many will long remember her knack for finding humor in doubtful situations, and how she and her friends could laugh together to the point of tears. She was indeed an “UP” personality.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her son, Kirk Mathew White of San Francisco, California; her sister Diane Lowe and partner Bruce Gray of Florida; her brother-in-law Jerry White, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by sister Judy Helsey and her husband Hugh.

Calling hours for Carol will be held Tuesday June 3 from 4 to 7PM at Keyser Funeral and Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, to be followed by a funeral service at 7PM. Cremation and burial at Wiltwyck Cemetery will be held privately at a later time. The family would welcome memorial contributions made in Carol’s honor to Port Ewen Reformed Church, P.O.
