Carolyn Millonig

Carolyn Shults Millonig, 94, of Kingston, NY, passed away at home on Saturday, June 21, 2025. She was born on May 22, 1931, in Kingston, NY, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Kingman Shults.

She was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1948. She later graduated from Wells College and SUNY New Paltz. Carolyn worked as an Elementary Teacher in Ulster and Orange Counties. She also worked for many years for her family's business, Canfields Supply, Kingston, NY.

Carolyn was a volunteer at the Kingston YWCA where she was a Youth Group Organizer for several events. She was a member of the Old Dutch Church where she taught Sunday School and was on the Board of Directors of the Hudson River Maritime Museum. Carolyn enjoyed playing bridge and puzzles.

She traveled extensively, having visited Russia, China, Europe, and all throughout the United States. She was a Corvette enthusiast and had several in her collection. She enjoyed astronomy, nature, wildlife and never met a creature she didn't like it, big and small.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Elizabeth "Betsy" Wood of Clearwater, FL, Kim Celeste Hyde of Sarasota, FL, Amy Jan Millonig of Albany, NY, Hans Millonig of Hatfield, PA, her grandchildren, Brianne Melvin, Daphne Wood, Kyle Wood, Evan Guido, Michael Millonig, Carl John Millonig, Jeffrey Millonig, her great grandchildren, Jacob Melvin and Matthew Melvin, Olivia Guido, Savannah Guido, and Hudson Guido, her sister, Janet Shults McCoubrey, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear family members. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her grandson, Jacob Hans Bailey, and her brother, John R. Shults, Jr.
