Paul J. Hamilton, 59, of Rosendale, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was born July 16, 1958 in Kingston, NY to the late Amos J. "Andy" Hamilton, Jr., and Kathrine "Beverly" (Jordan) Hamilton.
Paul met the love of his life, Gloria DeFalco-Hamilton, in September of 1987. They wed on October 10, 1998. Paul often joked that it took 11 years to convince Gloria to marry him. Over the years Paul and Gloria adored their beloved Golden Retrievers, Chelsea and Gioia. Paul had a passion for animals and all those around him. He had a heart of gold and would always go above and beyond to help someone in need.
Paul enjoyed camping, fishing, reading Louis Lamour Westerns, playing guitar, and going for rides in his Camaro. He also enjoyed NASCAR, and attending car shows. His favorite was the 1955 Chevy Bel Air. He had a great love and admiration for Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was an avid photographer, especially of nature. His love for the majestic American Eagle was known to all who knew him.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one aunt, Josephine Hamilton of Alabama, niece, Jennifer Doggett of Saugerties, to whom Paul was a mentor and father figure. Also surviving are his cousins, Mary Kate (George) Moylan, and Patrick Flannery, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brothers, Andrew J. Hamilton, Sr., and Peter J. Hamilton.
