Virginia R. O'Donnell

Virginia Rosenkranse O'Donnell, age 92, passed away on March 8, 2022 at home. She was born April 26, 1929 to the late Peter and Hyla (Countryman) Rosenkranse, in Clintondale, NY. She was married to the late Francis J. O'Donnell, they wed on September 26, 1949 and celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Virginia earned her RN Degree at the Kingston Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1950. Her career of nursing was at local hospitals and then at IBM Medical and Personnel departments. She was a 45-year participant of the Harvard Nurses Study and was still involved with a variety of health issues related to nurses. Virginia loved to travel she visited all 50 states via camping trips with her husband and family. She traveled throughout Europe with her daughters and husband, enjoying every moment. Virginia was an avid skier until her mid eighties and made many friends on the slopes.

In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her grandson Gregory Zenzel, her son-in-law, David Zenzel, her brothers, Peter, Hobart, and Roger Rosenkranse, and her sisters, Harriet Gredzinski and Margaret Simpson.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Susan (Joseph) Leiching and Michelle Zenzel, and her sons, Patrick (Kathy) O'Donnell and Timothy (Linda) O'Donnell as well as one sister Carolyn Wilklow. Also surviving are her fabulous remarkable grandchildren: David (Paula) Leiching, Timothy (Krissy) Leiching, Elisabeth (Jonathan) Hedges, Maureen Cassady, Aileen (Timothy) Lane, Kevin (Theresa) O'Donnell MD, Deborah (William) Haag and Jeffrey Zenzel. She will be missed by her 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was well loved and lived a wonderful life.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY 12466, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service will be held in Modena Rural Cemetery, Modena, NY, at 11am on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.StJude.org or a charity of your choice.
