Thomas J. Quinn of Horton La., Port Ewen died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 66. A native and lifelong Kingston resident he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Irena Pettinger Quinn. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1961. He married Rita L. Horvers on August 26, 1979. For 23 years Mr. Quinn worked at I.B.M. in Kingston, East Fishkill and Poughkeepsie in administration and manufacturing. He previously worked as plant manager for Auto-Ordinance, Kingston Knitting Mills, Utility Platers, Morgan Linen and Numerich Arms. He previously served as past-president of Kingston Catholic School. An avid fisherman and hunter, Mr. Quinn enjoyed target shooting, vacationing in Cape Cod and deep sea fishing. He was a John Wayne enthusiast. His mother in law, Josephine Hoervers died previously. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Rita L. Quinn, one daughter Darby Marie Quinn of Kingston, and one son Sean Thomas Quinn of Port Ewen. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. A candlelight celebration of his life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
