Theodore William Perlmutter, 89, of Kingston, New York, died on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Kingston Hospital after a six week ordeal.with his health. He, once again, demonstrated his incomparable spirit in how hard he fought to survive. He was born on October 20, 1922, in New York City. He was a son of the late Morris and Bessie Serotta Perlmutter. He is survived by his spouse, Bonnie Perlmutter of Lake Katrine, New York, his son Barry Perlmutter of Woodside, New York, his daughter Marcy Perlmutter of Shandaken, New York, his sister Irene Zahler of Louisville, Kentucky, a brother and sister-in-law Harry and Jean Perlmutter of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, six nieces and nephews and a very special friend Dorothy Betzmer and her daughter Lorraine Guarino. Ted Perlmutter was a veteran of World War II. He enlisted in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He began his career as a Civilian Computer Instructor for the U.S. Army. Next, he was employed by IBM in Kingston, New York, as an Electrical Engineer for 32 years until his retirement. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and continued to attend as many games as possible with his son even to the age of 88. Ted Perlmutter loved deeply, lived fully and laughed often. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 2:30 PM at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
