Sofia Haleiko of Lindeman Ave., Kingston died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Kingston Hospital. She was 84.
She was born May 7, 1923 in Poland, a daughter of the late Joseph and Pelagia Hoffman.
A Kingston resident since 1965, Mrs. Haleiko was employed as an examiner in several of Kingston's garment factories. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, a former member of the Steuben Society, a proud grandmother, seamstress, avid gardener and baker.
She was married to the late Peter Haleiko.
Surviving are a son, Michael and his wife Jan of Island Park and a daughter, Diane Haleiko of Kingston and grandchildren, Misha, Peter and Holly Haleiko.
She was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm.
A funeral procession will form on Wednesday at 9:15 am from the funeral home. At 10:00 am, a funeral Mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church by Fr. John Borzuchowski. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, East Park.
