She was the daughter of Michael C. Morabito and the late Erika (Reichelt) Morabito. Sharon grew up in Mohegan Lake and graduated from Lakeland High School. As a single mother of two sons, Sharon was proud to complete her two- year degree in accounting at SUNY Ulster. She was also proud that two of her sons achieved Eagle Scout rank. Sharon married Klaus Dieter Harms on August 31, 1981. Over the years she was employed at The Children's Home of Kingston, The Wonderly Company, and BudPay and was an Election Inspector for many years in Woodstock and Hurley. She was a social member of Die Bergvagabunden Schuhplattler for several years.

Sharon's favorite vacations were by the ocean, especially Cape Cod. Her favorite pastimes were going to the theater, reading, and shopping for the best prices. She had a talent for finding the " perfect gifts" for family and friends. A true cat lover, she loved all of the cats that were a part of her life. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother and valued the many friendships she made.
