Sándor Kozma, 88, of Cottekill, NY, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at home surrounded by family. He was born on February 13, 1937, in Fehérvárcsurgó, Hungary and was the son of the late Gabor and Rosa (Dreska) Kozma. He escaped from Communist Hungary in 1957 to Salzburg, Austria, before immigrating to the US in 1959. He became a US Citizen on May 11, 1964.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Huck Manufacturing, Kingston for 18 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Church, Hurley, NY. He was an avid Rangers and Jets fan.
He is survived by his children, Sandra Kay Emrich and her husband David of Cottekill, Sándor Everett Kozma Sr. and his wife Laura of Carmel, NY, five grandchildren, Katherine Farkas and her husband Thomas, Charles Emrich and his wife Danielle, Jessica Kozma, Sándor Kozma Jr, Ashley Kozma and a great-grandson, Levi Emrich. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Janet Kozma and his brother, Gyula.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will take place at 1pm at the funeral home with burial following in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.
