Samuel J. Benicase

Samuel J. Benicase, 95, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Thursday September 24, 2026 at home. He was born on March 25, 1931, in Kingston, NY, son of the late Frank and Susan (Amato) Benicase. Samuel was married to his loving wife, Lorraine (Finnerty) Benicase, they wed on August 21, 1960. Lorraine passed away earlier this year on March 18, 2026.

He served in the US Air Force from 1951 until receiving his honorable discharge in 1955 as the rank of Staff Sargent. From 1957 to 1977, Samuel worked for Kingston Trust Co. as Assistant Treasurer and Branch Manager and then went to work for Rondout Savings Bank as Head Teller from 1977 until his retirement in 2007. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church in Kingston.

He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Benicase and his wife Lori, Stephen Benicase and his wife Linda, and Alan Benicase and his wife Cathy, his grandchildren, Stacey Staalesen, Kevin Benicase, Brittany Zeck, Kristy Benicase, Kara Benicase, Audrey Benicase, and Kaitlyn Benicase, his great grandchildren, Makari, Kelsey, Trey, Charlee, and Zoey, his siblings, Janice Turck and Frank "Hank" Benicase, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Samuel is predeceased by his brothers, Thomas "Pete" Benicase, James Benicase, Joseph Benicase, Charles Benincasa, Michael Benicase, Jennie Serra, Thomas Martino, Vera Amarello, and Rose Grube.

Arrangements are entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Friday October 2, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral procession will form at 8:45am at the funeral home on Saturday October 3, 2026, and will proceed to St. Joseph’s RC Church, 242 Wall St., Kingston, NY 12401 where at 10am at Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston. Donations in Samuel’s memory can be made to Hudson Valley Hospice at www.HVHospice.org or a charity of your choice.
