Roy Hochberg, 83, of Glenford, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at HealthAlliance Hospital - Mary's Ave Campus in Kingston, NY. He was born on November 17, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Evan) Hochberg.
He was a graduate and proud alumnus of Penn State University, Class of 1963. After graduation, Roy worked for 30+ years at IBM, retiring from the plant in Kingston, NY. He later served as an Ulster County Legislator and was currently serving as Town of Hurley Town Justice. He was a member of the Town of Hurley Democratic Committee where he served as Chairman, Kingston Kiwanis Club where he served as President, and Trout Unlimited where he served as Treasurer. Roy was an avid Fly Fisherman, especially on the Esopus, and was a huge sports fan, specifically the Penn State Nittany Lions.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Hochberg of Glenford, NY, and Jon Hochberg and his wife Kimberly of Commack, NY, his grandchildren, Alexander Hochberg, Sarah Hochberg, Bryce Hochberg, and Brayden Hochberg, his brother, Joseph Hochberg and his wife Dawn, as well as his nephew, Joe Hochberg. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Albert Hochberg.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday July 20, 2025 from 2pm to 6pm with the funeral service taking place at 6pm. Burial will take place at Plum Creek Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.
