Rose Ostrander

Rose Ann Ostrander, 88, of Willow, NY, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 25, 1933 in Hunter, NY, daughter of the late Alonzo and Margaret (Higgins) Parslow. She was married to her husband of 45 years, Harvey Ostrander, they wed on September 15, 1951 in Hunter.

Rose was the Postmaster in Willow for 25 years. The post office was located in her home. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, snowmobiling, bowling, 4 wheeling, and camping with a love of the Catskill Mountains. She also enjoyed baking, especially for her children and grandchildren, as was a HUGE devoted NY Yankees fan.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Sylvia) of Willow, Douglas (Rose R.) of Willow, and Stanley (Kay) of Lake Hill, six grandchildren, Joshua (Bessie) of Chesapeake, VA, Sara (Brad) of Saratoga Springs, NY, Ami (Jasen) of Lake Hill, Cory of Willow, Cody of Seattle, WA, and Leah (Liam) of New Rochelle, NY, four great grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Nicholas, and Bella Rose, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose is predeceased by her siblings, Harry Parslow, Hilda Bailey, and Donald Parslow.

Rose loved her boys beyond words. Her family was the most important thing to her. She was blessed with three great grandsons. Thankfully she was able to meet and hold her great granddaughter. Her heart was full.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 3:30 to 6pm with the service taking place at 6pm.
