Rose Borden

Rose M. Borden, 79, of Hurley, NY, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. She was born on October 23, 1945, in Cornwall, NY. Rose was married to the late William F. Borden of Albany, NY. They wed on December 4, 1970 and resided in Kingston for many years. She was a School Bus Driver for over 40 years and worked for the City of Kingston as a School Monitor.

She enjoyed crocheting, popcorn, Pepsi, butter pecan ice cream, country music, walking, and daytime soap operas. She was an avid traveler, having visited Hawaii and Australia. She was the glue that kept everyone together and hosted many holiday gatherings. Her recipes are still used by her family today.

Rose is survived by her children, Linda Sweetser, Richard Wood, Jr. and Willis Wood, his wife Jennifer, her grandchildren, Jeremy Wood, Ashley McQuillan, Lauren Marie Simmons, Aleya Steinhilber, Dylan Wood and Ashley Jacob, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, as well as many other dear family and friends. She is predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Curry, a sister and 2 brothers.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm followed by the funeral service at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
