Roger Temple

Roger H.Temple, 81 of Sawkill died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was born Sept. 6, 1943 in Kingston, NY, son of the late Raymond and Bertha (Oakley) Temple. He married Ruth A. Temple on Sept. 2, 1983 and they had 36 years together until she passed away on May 14, 2020.

Roger worked as a mechanic for Trailways in Kingston until his retirement. He and Ruth enjoyed many years of camping together. His favorite pastimes were fishing and watching NASCAR racing.

Roger is survived by his children, Lisa Arold (Gary) of Sawkill, Lynn Piotrowski of Saugerties, Herbert Dixon Jr., (Ingrid) of Englewood, FL., and Edward Dixon of Kingston. Also surviving are 14 Grandchildren: Jacqueline DeWitt (Robert), Travis Howe, Valerie Dwyer (Denis), Ryan Arold (Jodi), Brandon Arold, Matthew Boice (Alyson), Kayla Babb (John), Paul Boice Jr., (Katie), Nicholas Boice (Karianne), Lauren Piotrowski, Leanne Brown (Greg), Krista Marks (Rob), Eliana Dixon, Elyssa Dixon and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Temple is also survived by his son-in-law, Eric Howe of Rosendale and two sister-in-laws, Elaine Sickler of Davenport and Lynn Sickler of Saugerties. Several nieces and nephews also survive as well as his good friend Debra Sylvester and her husband Alfred. Mr. Temple was predeceased by his daughter Karen Howe, his brother Wayne Temple and his wife Stephanie, his brother Raymond Temple Jr. and his wife Liz, his brother-in-laws Kenneth Sickler and Donald Sickler as well as his sister-in law Mary Gromoll and her husband Philip.
