Robina Kemel

Robina Moffett Thorn Kemel, 91, of Accord, NY, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston, NY. She was born on March 7, 1932 in Coldenham, NY, daughter of the late Ernest Hall Thorn and Marie Moffett Thorn.

Robina was an executive secretary to the department head of communications at the SUNY New Paltz. She was an avid gardener, a macrobiotic cook, and a lover of animals and nature. Robina was a spiritual seeker who furthered her understanding of herself and her role in the cosmos by a keen appreciation of the natural world. 

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Marie Ryan and her husband Michael J. Ryan of Accord, NY, her granddaughter, Rebecca Marie Ryan of Accord, NY, her sister in law, Carol Thorn of Newburgh, NY, her nephew, Peter Zegel, Jr. of Baker, FL, her sister Barbara Graham and her nephew David Graham of PA. her cousin, Pasha Moffett of Newburgh, NY, and her cousin, Nigel Moffett and his wife Sandra of Middletown, NY. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, James Thorn, her sister Jean Thorn, her brother William Thorn, and her nephew, William Thorn, Jr.

She has left a legacy of service to the Earth.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11am.
