Robert J. Kearney

Robert J. Kearney, 77, of Kingston, NY, died peacefully with his family on January 3, 2012 at the Kingston Hospital.

He was born in Union City, NJ on October 13, 1934, the son of the late Bernard J. and Margaret Kearney. He lived in Union City until he moved to Kingston in 1953. Bob was a 27 year employee of the New Paltz College Maintenance Department, retiring in 1995.

He was a soldier of the Salvation Army in Kingston and was a past member of the Rosendale and Twaafskill Fire Departments.

Bob is predeceased by his wives, Joyce Finley, Noel Martin and companion Katherine McCluskey, and siblings Philip Kearney and Katherine Kearney Weiss.

He is survived by his children, Diane Kearney of Kingston, Janet Nestell and her husband Charles of Town of Ulster, Donna Kearney of Kingston and Patrick Finley of Kingston, grandchildren, Matthew Kearney, Jessica Nestell, Bryan Nestell and Travis Gorham, a brother, Bernard Kearney of Fl., as well as several nieces and nephews.

Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 28th 2012 at 12:00 PM at the Salvation Army Church, 35 Cedar St, Kingston, NY, with Captain William and Susanne Geracia, officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to a fellowship gathering of the celebration of his life at the church.

Inurnment will be in Wyltwyck Cemetery at a later date.
