Richard Lehtinen, 85, of Kingston, died suddenly, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Fitchburg, MA, he was the son of the late Felix & Tyyne Lehtinen. Richard was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Air Force. He worked for IBM for over 30 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was an avid golfer and a member of Wiltwyck Golf Club. Richard loved all things educational, including history, nature, geography, astronomy, airplanes, woodworking and so much more. His thirst for learning was boundless. Yet, he never missed an opportunity to watch a Boston Red Sox or New York Giants game.
Richard is survived by his wife Helene Napoletano Lehtinen of Kingston, a son, Erik Lehtinen of Boise, ID, a daughter, Jennifer Lehtinen and her husband Eric Brosius of Middletown, NY, two grandchildren, Tyler & Isabella, two nieces, Deborah Wade and Pamela Haapanen, and two grandnieces Amanda & Heather.
In addition to his parents, Richard was recently predeceased by his sister, Norma Wade.
The family will receive friends at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
A candlelight service will follow at 7:30 at the funeral home.
Interment will be privately held.
