RiAnne M. Keir

September 16, 1962 — September 4, 2021

RiAnne Keir, 58, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born on September 16, 1962, in Fort Lee, VA, and was the daughter of Carolyn Wenzell and the late Larry Williams. RiAnne was married to Morgan D. Keir, who passed away in November 2007.

RiAnne was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1980, and upon graduation, she chose to pursue her lifelong passion for nursing. She attended Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY, and graduated in 1985 with a bachelor's degree. After college, she worked for Kingston Hospital, several local doctor's offices, and Ulster ARC. While RiAnne was in college, she met her husband, Morgan, the love of her life, and they were married in 1984.

After the birth of her first child, RiAnne decided to continue her passion for caring for others by becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom. This giving of herself was also evident in the decision to homeschool all four of her children. She loved getting to rediscover the joy of learning with them, and reading books and going on field trips were the activities that she enjoyed doing with them the most. After her kids were grown, RiAnne took on caring for those around her, routinely driving her family members to doctor's appointments and doing whatever they needed done. She was always someone you could count on for anything, and she showed her love for those around her by giving of her time.

RiAnne's Christian faith was central to her life and was a constant comfort to her, especially during the early passing of her husband. She regularly attended Cross Point Fellowship in Hurley, NY, and in her spare time, she enjoyed being with family, spending time with her grandkids, reading, doing puzzles, and listening to music.

RiAnne is survived by her children, Ian Keir and his wife Faith of Port Ewen, Karissa Keir of Kingston, Cameron Keir and his wife Alexa of Ulster Park, and Moriah Keir of Kingston; her grandchildren, Zella, Ellis, Brooklyn, Riley, and Lennox Keir; her mother, Carolyn Wenzell of Kingston; her siblings, Jim Williams and his wife Kathy of Abingdon, Maryland, and LaLynne Friedrich and her husband Dan of Albany; and many other dear family members and friends.
