Natalie Woodard

~~Natalie (van Laer) Woodard, 89, of Hurley, NY, passed away on Friday September 1, 2017. She was born November 8, 1927 in High Falls, NY to the late Arnold G. F. van Laer and Sarah A. (Brown) van Laer.

She married James W. Woodard on June 25th 1949. James passed away on August 3rd 2000. Natalie graduated from Kingston High School Class of 1945 and then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Business from Keuka College. She worked for Potter Bros. Ski Shop as a book keeper for several years before retiring in 1986.

Natalie was a member of Hurley Reformed Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She was a member of the Hurley Heritage Society, Hurley Reformed Church Women's Guild and Wiltwyck Golf Club for 34 years. Natalie loved to spend time with her children, grand children and great grandchildren.   She enjoyed reading, knitting, quilting, baking, and golfing.

Natalie is survived by her children, Deborah J. Noble and her husband Richard of Marietta, GA, Dr. James W. Woodard and his wife Kim of Penn Yan, NY, Charles "Chuck" E. Woodard and his wife Colette of Stone Ridge, NY, Mark D. Woodard and his wife Bethany of Saugerties, NY, siblings, Eleanor Thornton and her husband Ralph, Charles van Laer and his wife Marilyn, sister-in-law, Mary van Laer, 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her brother Arnold van Laer, brother-in-law, William Woodard, and sister-in-law, Kay Woodard.

Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday September 5 from 4 to 7pm. The funeral service will take place at Hurley Reformed Church, 11 Main St., Hurley, NY 12443 on Wednesday September 6 at 10am. Inurnment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Hurley Reformed Church, Main Street, Hurley, NY 12443 or The Hurley Rescue Squad, PO Box 181, Hurley, NY 12443.
