Minnie Maye Whitaker

Minnie Maye Whitaker, 90, of Port Ewen, passed away on Tuesday February 5, 2019 at Wingate at Ulster in Highland, NY.

She was born May 5, 1928 in Kingston, to the late Chester and Helen (Christiansen) Soper. She was married to her loving husband, Alfred "Bud" Whitaker. They wed on June 10th 1951, Bud passed away on January 18th 1996. Minnie was a beautician for many years and worked at Golden Hill Health Care Center in Kingston. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the VA Hospital in Albany.

Minnie is survived by her son, Robert P. Whitaker of Palm Coast, FL, and D.J. Whitaker and his wife Dorene of Tillson, NY, her grandchildren, William Miller & Christopher Whitaker both of Tilson, NY, two great grand grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her sisters, Laura Markle and Evelyn Hart and her daughter in law, Karen Mack Whitaker.
