Maryann Palmadessa

Maryann Palmadessa, 98, of Lake Katrine, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026. She was born on October 16, 1927, in New York City, daughter of the late Dominic and Antoinette (Mamo) Grech. She was married to her loving husband, Frank Joseph Palmadessa, Sr. for 65 years. They wed on July 18th, 1948, in St. Francis Xavier Church in Manhattan.

Maryann worked for IBM as an Executive Assistant to the Regional Branch Manager in New York City for many years eventually transferring to IBM Kingston where she retired in 1990. During her exceptional 24 year career, she was the recipient of four IBM Means Service Awards for excellence. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church in Kingston and had a strong faith and belief in God.

Her family was always her first priority in life and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose love for us was boundless. She was a great cook, and an avid reader switching to audio books when her eyesight failed at 98. She had a kind, caring, generous nature, full of life and laughter, who gave of herself to others, was loved by many people and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Frank Palmadessa Jr. and his wife Margie, Joanne Barber and her husband Tom, and John Palmadessa, her grandchildren, Matthew Palmadessa and his wife Allison, Lorrie Barber and her husband Gianluca DiMichele, and Kelly Merhar and her husband Stephen Poulos, her great-grandchildren, Audrey, Sabrina, Natalie, Matthew, Jr., Anthony, Nora, Joshua, William, and Elena, as well as, Diane Mayo, and several dear nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Maryann is predeceased by her siblings, Edmond, Joseph, Dolores, and Vivian.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 242 Wall Street, Kingston, NY 12401.
