Mary Howard Winchell

On March 15, Mary Howard Winchell, 93, passed away peacefully at her home of 65 years in the Town of Ulster. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to Betty and Lemuel Howard in 1932. They moved to Kingston early, where she attended St. Ursula's, #8 School and Kingston High School. She worked as an operator for the Bell Telephone Company and eventually married Bruce A. Winchell, who was employed at Kingston IBM. She is survived by their 5 children, Sherry, Craig, Dean, Bruce and Eric and two grandchildren Sebastian and Sheldon Reeves. After years as a homemaker and real estate agent, Mary worked with Bruce at the Sound of Life Christian radio station in Lake Katrine. She was involved in Christian ministries for over 50 years and formed Amazing Love Ministries with her husband Bruce. She always found time to lend a sympathetic ear and provide counsel and prayer to those in need. "A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” -Psalm 27:9.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 10am to 12pm. The funeral service will take place at 12pm with burial following in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.
