Mary Ellen Rower

Mary Ellen Rower, 81, of Brooklyn then Boiceville, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The moon was full. She was born on December 7, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late John Rogan and Dorothy Dempsey.

Mary Ellen was intelligent, witty and the life of the party. She loved watching wildlife flock to her back porch, especially birds, turkeys, flowers, and bears. She was an involved mother, so proud of her children and grandchildren.

She worked for IBM in Manhattan, NY as an esteemed Branch Service Manager. After retiring, she moved to the Catskills to pursue her love of nature and garage sales. Although she faced health challenges later in life, she never lost her sense of humor.

Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Peter Leonardo and his family, her children, Kevin Rower, Kristen Bloomer, Jason Rower and their spouses, her grandchildren, Brandon, Lauren, Chelsea, Christian, Correy, Justin, Jake, and Juliana, and her beloved dog, “Pokey.”

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY. A private graveside burial service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston. Loved ones will gather and commemorate her beautiful soul.
