Martin D. Acosta

July 31, 1949 — November 23, 2019

Martin "Marty" D. Acosta, 70, of Kingston, NY, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Health Alliance Hospital - Broadway Campus Kingston. He was born on July 31, 1949 in Bronx, New York and was the son of the late Peter and Martha Acosta.

He was a graduate of Rice High School in the Bronx, and had attended SUNY Orange and SUNY Ulster Community Colleges

He served in the US Army, as a medic, in Vietnam. For many years he worked as a counselor at Gateway Community Industries.

He liked classic rock, enjoyed concerts, kayaking on the Hudson River and local tributaries and camping, especially at White Birches in Windham and Pot of Gold in Acra, NY. He was a lifelong Yankee fan.

He is survived by his loving wife Patrice Boyle, a brother Daniel M. Acosta of Arizona, several nieces, nephews and his beloved boxer Sissy.

The family would like to thank the Ulster County Veterans Service Agency and the Kingston Dialysis Center for their care and kindness

Entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, the memorial Gathering and Celebration of Marty's Life will be on Tuesday, December 3, from 5 - 7 pm. All are welcome.
Inurnment will take place at the Ulster County Veterans Cemetery, New Paltz, with military honors on Wednesday at 10 am.
