Marie Bence Dailey, 92, of Margate, FL, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center after a long illness surrounded by her daughter and family. She was born on September 8, 1930 in Kingston, NY and was the daughter of the late Charles and Julia (Bloise) Ferro.

 

Marie grew up in the Kingston area and later moved to Fort Lauderdale and Margate Florida. She worked for the Holiday Inn and later Marriot Hotel Corp. where she was a Union Leader. She loved her family, dogs, casinos, cruises, reading, staying up late, good gossip and keeping a meticulous home. She was very generous to her family and friends.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Charles) Moore of Saugerties, NY, granddaughter, Lisa (Vincent) DePalma of Saugerties, NY and her sister, Rose Dementriou of Los Angeles, CA., She also leaves behind her dear friends, Daisy and David Van Derlaan of FL and Yvette Ferrine of Kingston, NY. She was very fond of her former husband’s (William Bence) children, Donna (Frank) Ronkese of FL, William Jr. of Kingston, NY and John (Noelle) Bence of Saugerties, NY. As well as her late husband’s (Richard Dailey) son, Scott Dailey of FL.

 

Marie is predeceased in death by her parents, Charles and Julia (Bloise) Ferro, her sisters, Teresa Dunnigan, Nancy Ferro and Josephine Gultier. Her brothers, Arthur Ferro, Salvatore Ferro and Anthony Ferro. She was also preceded by her former husband, William Bence and her late husband, Richard Dailey.

 

Marie’s family would like to extend their deepest and sincere gratitude to the staff at Golden Hill, especially those on unit C2 who helped care for Marie during her time there.
