Maria Kain

Maria Kain, 82, passed away on January 5, 2025, at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. Maria was born on February 4,1942, in Kingston, NY, the daughter of Edward and Geraldine Myers. 

Maria was a registered nurse for 45 years, graduating from the Benedictine School of Nursing in Kingston in 1962. In 1999, she graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration. Her nursing career included instructing at the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, Charge Nurse at the Ulster County Infirmary, and working as a nurse claims reviewer at various health insurance companies. Upon retiring in 2007, she volunteered at the United Way, The St. Francis Chapel and Albany Memorial Hospital. 

Maria enjoyed spending time with her family and was a loving wife and a wonderful mom. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Kain, and their daughter, Lisa Kain.
