Margaret Josephine Ritter

Kingston – Margaret Josephine Ritter 85, formerly of Catskill passed away June 26, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born May 21, 1941 in Catskill, daughter of Harold and Ann (Desco) MaGinn. She was married to her loving husband Robert for 64 years, after a courtship that began when they met at age 14.

Margaret attended St Patrick’s Catholic School in Catskill. Earlier in life she volunteered at Greene County Memorial Hospital, worked in sales at Helene dress shop, and helped at her husband’s business, Ritter’s Garage. Margaret was a homemaker, loving family and taking pride in her home, yard and keeping personal and life details in order with a caring old school work ethic. She and Bob enjoyed vacations to Cape Cod and the Adirondacks, Lake George. More recently enjoying trips to the Jersey Shore and South Carolina with her daughter and family.

She is survived by her daughter Helena and her husband Steven, grandchildren Emilie Margaret who lovingly helped with her care, Daniel and his wife Alyssa of Simsbury, CT and great grandchildren Jaxon, Grayce and Eleanore. Sisters Patricia (Michael) Durante of Latham, NY and Debbie (Fred) Hummel of Athens, NY. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Robert, sisters Sandy and Rosalie.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 10am to 12pm, with the funeral service taking place at 12. Followed by private burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Catskill, NY.
