Louis Gross

Louis Gross of Whitfield Road, Accord died Monday, July 03, 2006 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 57. He was born June 20, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, a son of the late Albert and Sylvia Kessler Gross. Mr. Gross was director of the transfer station for the Town of Marbletown. He was a longstanding member of the Shawangunk Runners Club and former vice-president and treasure of the High Falls Food Coop. Surviving is his wife, Laurel Krastel Gross, two brothers, Marvin Gross of Buffalo, Robert Gross of Portland, OR; a sister, Eileen Gross of San Francisco, CA. Two step-sons, Richard and Raymond and a nephew, Jason also survive. Cremation will be private. celebration of Lou's life will be held at Spring Farm, Mohonk Preserve, 6:00 pm on Friday, July 7. Bring chairs/blanket, covered dish or drinks to share, maybe a favorite photo. Parking is limited, carpooling suggested.Take Route 299 west, go over steel bridge and make right onto Springtown Road. Make a left onto Mountain Rest Road. Pass the entrance to the Mohonk Mountain House and go under the one-lane bridge. Continue on 1 mile, and turn right on Upper 27 Knolls Road. Within ¼ mile, you’ll reach the kiosk for the Spring Farm Trailhead.
