Lloyd A. Littlefield

August 1, 1932 — November 26, 2012

Lloyd Arthur Littlefield, 80, of Hurley NY, passed away November 26th, 2012 at Northern Dutchess Hospital. He was born August 1, 1932 in Troy, NY the son of the late Clarence and Margaret Littlefield.




He leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Alyce (Wainwright) Littlefield; they wed on February 17th 1954.




Lloyd graduated from Albany Business College with a degree in accounting. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War on the Battleship New Jersey. After returning home from service, he worked for IBM in Kingston & Poughkeepsie for 35 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club.




An active member of the community, Lloyd was a volunteer firefighter with the Hurley Fire Dept, where he also served as treasurer. He coached baseball in the Hurley Little League and the Kingston Babe Ruth League for several years. Together with his wife, they were the number one fans of their grandchildren, especially watching them play sports from Little League all the way up through their college years. Lloyd was an avid sportsman, and loved ice fishing, a passion he enjoyed with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling in the U.S., particularly to the National Parks, in Alaska and Hawaii. He also toured with his wife throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, & Scotland.




He was a long time member of Grace Community EFCA Church in Lake Katrine.




In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Glen Littlefield and his wife Nancy of Fredericksburg, VA & Gary Littlefield and his wife Debra of Saugerties, 6 grandchildren Megan Tuckwiller and her husband Daniel of Lynchburg, VA, Michael Littlefield and his wife Karen of Laguna Beach, CA, Daniel Littlefield and his wife Jeannie of Ashburn, VA, Brittany, Brandon, & Brooke Littlefield of Saugerties, 7 great-grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a twin brother, Loyal Littlefield and his wife Joan of Wynantskill, NY.






Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, where friends may call on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM.




The funeral service will commence at the Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 and burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Albany, NY.




In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Grace Community Church, 160 Seremma Court, Lake Katrine, NY 12449 or to the American Red Cross to help survivors of Hurricane Sandy. www.redcross.org/hurricane-sandy
