Ruby - Leroy Hooker of Main St. died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the age of 82. He was born in Oneonta, son of the late George and Lillian Scharschu Hooker. Leroy attended Kingston High School where he was a standout basketball player. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was employed in the shipping department of Rotron for 43 years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary McCue Hooker. Leroy was an avid golfer, NY Giants and NY Mets fan. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Ginny Green of Blue Island, IL; Beth Pilz of Ruby; two sons, Daniel Hooker of Brooklyn and Ken Hooker and his wife Lynn of Mesa, AZ. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Christopher & Michael Green; Sean, April & Samantha Pilz; Erik & Ryan Hooker; two step-grandchildren, Craig & Christopher Nast; two step-great grandchildren Michael & Henrik Nast; his sister, Beverly Keogan and her husband Gene of Stone Ridge. A brother, George Hooker died previously. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston where a memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon at which time a memorial service will be conducted. Inurnment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Sawkill. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4027.
