Leon W. Goyer, 86, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1940, in Troy, NY, son of the late Stephen and Frances (Conde) Goyer. He was married to the late Darlene Bower Goyer.
Leon served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and later worked for IBM in Kingston for many years. He was a rare coin and money collector and enjoyed visiting the Dietz Stadium Diner with his buddies for the “Morning Coffee Club”. In his spare time, Leon was a freelance photographer.
Leon is survived by his children, Sharon Kovacs of North Carolina, Leon (Brandi) Goyer of Alabama, and Nancy (Robert) Barley of North Carolina, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as his siblings, Stephen Goyer of Cohoes, and Marianne (Tim) DelRusso of Niskayuna. He will be dearly missed, as Leon would always say, “bye for now”.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Nellena Carter as well as his dear friend, Rosalind Wilber.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Stone Ridge, NY.
