Lee A. Hotaling, 68, of the Town of Ulster, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY. He was born on May 3, 1957, in Kingston, NY, son of the late James and Ruth (Shay) Hotaling. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1976 and later married Mary (Blank) Hotaling, they wed on May 14, 1977.
Lee served his country in the US Army at Fort Benning, GA, in Company B, 43rd Engineer Battalion and later in the New York Army National Guard in Kingston, NY, in the 156th Field Artillery Battalion until his retirement in 2003. After retiring from the service, Lee worked for Builders FirstSource in Tillson, NY. He loved hunting, bowling, fishing, and especially cooking.
Lee is survived by his wife, Mary Hotaling, of the Town of Ulster, his son, Allen Hotaling, of the Town of Ulster, his sister, Ruthie Hotaling of Lake Katrine, as well as his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Cliff Hotaling and Diane (Hotaling) Bodie.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Friday February 20, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service with military honors will take place at 11am on Saturday February 21, 2026, at the Ulster County Veteran’s Cemetery at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, 81 Plains Road, New Paltz, NY 12561.
