Leandra E. Williams

Leandra E. Williams, 78, of Kingston, NY, passed away on October 12, 2026, surround by her loving family. She was born on October 31, 1947, in Chatham, NY to the late Alfred E. and Mildred (Vandemark) Smith. She was the wife of Peyton R. Williams, Jr; they were married on September 30, 2000, in Kingston.

She was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1965. For many years Leandra worked in the Security Department at various retail establishments including Sears, Caldor, and Montgomery Ward before working security at IBM. Most recently she was a bookkeeper for Schneider's Jewelers in Kingston before retiring in 2013.

Leandra is survived by her daughter Gaynell (Mark) Grimes of Kingston, her siblings, Gerald (Mary) Smith of Kingston and Judith Smith of Kingston, her grandchildren, Marques (Maranda) Grimes and Morayia Davis, her great grandchildren, Adryanna, Aryella, and Aniyah, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Daveta Bjaelker, her siblings, Alfred Smith, Edward Smith, David Smith, Mildred Herron, Alva Jean Smith, and Charyree Smith. and her great-grandson, Jacobie.

The family would like to especially thank the staff of Hudson Valley Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Leandra.
