Kenneth C. Odell

Kenneth C. Odell of Kingston, NY passed away on July 4th, 2022, at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston, one day before his 97th birthday.  He was born in 1925 in Poughkeepsie, NY, son of the late Raymond and Marcella (Fitzgerald) Odell.

Kenneth served in the Army Air Corp as a pilot during World War II, having trained on both the B-25 and B-17 bombers.  He was employed by IBM for 38 years, working first on the typewriter assembly line in Poughkeepsie, and later as a manager at the Kingston plant.

He was a hardy outdoorsman, who spent summers in the Adirondacks fishing and boating at the family’s camp on Long Lake. Following retirement in 1985, Kenneth lived half the year at Vista Plantation in Vero Beach, FL.  He was an avid golfer who hit a hole-in-one at the age of 82.

He is predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Elaine Dederer Odell of Hurley. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Tremper Odell, and his children, Thomas Odell of Queensbury, and Carolyn Odell Durnin of Grafton, NY.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Mon., Aug. 1st at Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.
