Katherine "Kay" Brinnier

June 11, 1925 — April 22, 2018

Hurley - Katherine "Kay" Meddaugh Brinnier of Dug Hill Road died at home in the company of family on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Born in Bridgeport, CT the daughter of the late Allerton F. and Edna Bailey Meddaugh, Kay graduated from New Milford H. S., received her Bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College and her Master's degree in

Education from SUNY New Paltz. She was a teacher in the Kingston Consolidated School System for 25 years. She had been a active member of The Junior League and

a longtime volunteer at the Emergency Room desk at Kingston Hospital. In December of 1949, she married John V.E. Brinnier in New Milford, CT. Kay enjoyed raising her

sons at her treasured home on the Dug Hill Rd. She traveled extensively with John

and especially enjoyed the ocean on Cape Cod and at Florida. Professionally and

personally she had a lifelong love of learning. Throughout her life she maintained strong

bonds with close friends and extended family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, William P. (Shelley Wyant) Brinnier

of Marbletown; John F. "Jack" (Sharon) Brinnier of Woodbury, CT; her grandchildren

Tara (Chad) Ehrenkranz of Miami, FL;Corinner (Nate) Brassfield of Columbia, MD; Justin Brinnier

of Nyack; Jonathan Brinnier and his fiancé Samantha Browning of West Hartford, CT;

special grandchildren Megan (Anthony) Mazzeo of Osterville, MA; Jason (Annie)

Maguire of Sandwich, MA and dear friends Sean and Gail Maguire of Centerville,

MA. Six great-grandchildren, Trevor, Owen, Eva, Zachary, Isabel and Cameron, a

niece, nephews and cousins also survive her.

She was predeceased by two sons, David L Brinnier 1953-1977 and Mark C Brinnier 1960-1987

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston.

Cremation and inurnment in Wiltwyck Cemetery areprivate.
