A Cherished Member of the Kingston Community

Judith Weiner Polinsky, a beloved resident of Kingston New York for many years, most recently of Carmel, New York and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022.

Judy had deep roots in Kingston, having been born and raised there, and raising her own family in Hurley. Judy’s father owned and operated Bongartz Pharmacy, a well-known local business, later operated by her husband Carl. She also had a home business in Hurley (Expressions) selling invitations and stationery, and later created and sold her own hand woven beaded jewelry (Judy’s Jewels) at art shows and from her home. Judy was very proud of being a co-founder of Fall for Art, a popular local art show and successful fundraiser for the Jewish Federation of Ulster County, where she volunteered for many years.

Judy was predeceased by her loving parents, Max and Sylvia (Handler) Weiner as well as her brother, Rabbi Philip N. Weiner. She is survived by her devoted husband Carl Polinsky, three adoring sons and their wives, Stephen (Anna) Polinsky of Boston, Brian (Guliz) Polinsky of Atlanta, and Matthew Polinsky (Tina August) of Pound Ridge and her three beautiful and cherished grandchildren: Max, Francesca, and Aren. She is also survived by nieces, a nephew, a brother and sisters in law, as well as many cousins. Judy leaves behind many dear friends who will forever treasure their memories with her, and possibly her hand made jewelry or knitted baby gifts.

Judy graduated Kingston High School in 1965, attended Boston University and later graduated from SUNY New Paltz, often attending classes with one of her small children.
