Joyce Davis Van Benschoten

A memorial service for Joyce Davis Van Benschoten will be held at 10:00 am on June 23, 2012 at the Flatbush Reformed Church 1844 Rt. 32, Saugerties, NY. Rev. Jennifer Bendelius will preside. Inurnment will follow at Wiltwyck Mausoleum.


Joyce passed away October 31, 2011 at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC, while on vacation. She was born on June 29, 1942 in Hackensack, NJ and was the daughter of the late Henry Lord Griswold and Elizabeth Davis Griswold.


Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, James Van Benschoten of the Town of Ulster, NY, her loving daughters; Julie Cannon of Glasco, NY and Jennifer Ciaccio and her husband, Tony of Gainesville, GA. She was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Grace, Anthony (AJ) and Drew. Joyce is also survived by her brother, Alan Griswold and his wife, Valerie of Lake Lure, NC, her brothers-in-law David (Dulcie) Van Benschoten, Albuquerque, NM, Thomas (Sandra) Van Benschoten, Jay, NY, Robert Van Benschoten, Stillwater, CO and sisters-in-law Dorothy (David) Alward, Norton, MA, Patricia (Patrick) Stephensen. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
