Josephine Catone

Josephine (Josie) Catone, 81, of Kingston, NY, died suddenly at her home on Monday, May 22, 2023. She was born on March 10, 1942 in Manhattan, NY, daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Zeh) Spetalieri. She worked for over 30 years at Michael’s Diner in Kingston before she retired. She loved Christmas, cooking, the New York Yankees, going to the casino, telling jokes and spending time with her family and friends.

Josie is survived by her children; Lisa Flynn and her husband, Robert, of Mount Marion, Dominick Catone of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Adrienne Catone of Portland, Oregon, her siblings: Susan Claussell and her husband Mario of Mount Marion, and Stephen Spetalieri of Richmond Hill, Georgia, her grandchildren: Jennifer Lafferty of Long Island, Kristin Sagazie and her husband Steve of Kingston, Joshua Catone and his husband Michael Kettell of Long Island and Jamie DeCicco-Miller and her husband Fred, of Kingston, and five great-grandchildren: Freddy Golnek, Ashley Izzo, Gabirel Sagazie, Joey Lafferty and Amelia Sagazie, many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving partner of many years, Thomas Marciano, her brother, Michael Spetalieri, and her sister, Judith LaPeruta.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 4pm-7pm. A private burial service will take place in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Saugerties, NY.
