Joseph DeGasperis

September 19, 1955 — September 21, 2025

Joseph “Jode” DeGasperis, 70, of Highland, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation & Extended Care Center in Highland. He was born on September 19, 1955, in Kingston, NY, the son of the late John and Anita (Lohmaier) DeGasperis.

Jode was a graduate of Kingston High School and spent many years working as a sales manager in the food equipment industry. Earlier in life, he also contributed to his family’s business, the Governor Clinton Grocery Store, a well-known staple in the Kingston community.

A lifelong New York Giants fan, Jode proudly held season tickets and loved attending games with his family. He had a deep love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles—especially riding and polishing his bike—and enjoyed poker runs and attending his children's extracurricular activities. Jode also had a passion for classic rock, particularly the Rolling Stones, and he cherished time spent at family gatherings. One of his favorite traditions was watching the children meet Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.

Jode’s interests reflected his zest for life: the New York Giants, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, James Bond and Western movies, cruises and travel, classic rock, and, most of all, his children, grandchildren, and family.

He is survived by his son, Joseph DeGasperis, and daughter-in-law Mackenzie, along with their daughter Emerie; his daughter Kiersten DeGasperis and her sons Benjamin and Harold; and his daughter Nicole DeGasperis Redelheim and her husband Seth, along with their sons Samuel and Jacob. He is also survived by his siblings Jamie DeGasperis and Nina Cicora.

In addition to his parents, Jode was predeceased by his brother, Arthur DeGasperis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the end of December, where family and friends will gather to honor Jode’s life and share memories and prayers.

Arrangements are entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. A tribute for Joseph can be found at www.KeyserFuneralService.com, where memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with his family.
