Joseph D. Leiching

Joseph D. Leiching, 89, of Schuler Lane, Lake Katrine, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at home. He was born in Port Ewen, a son of the late Joseph and Susan Clark Leiching. During WW II, he served in the submarine service. After naval service, Joe worked as a marine engineer for the Tice Co. in New York Harbor. Joe retired from IBM as a systems analyst. A member of Trinity Lutheran Chruch, he was also a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, SubVets and Kingston Lodge #10 F & AM. He was an avid fisherman. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Anna "Betty" Bickert Leiching; a daughter, Lori (Brian) Curran of Saugerties and a brother, Ross Leiching of Ulster Park. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A daughter, Linda Legregni died previously. Cremation was private under the direction of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston.
