Joseph A. White, 76, of Hurley, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. He was born December 7, 1938 in Kingston, to the late Robert and Catherine (Sheppard) White.
Joe was a Kingston High School Graduate where he was proud to be the Quarterback of the undefeated 1956 Varsity Football Team. He later received his Bachelors Degree from SUNY New Paltz and his Masters Degree from Marist College.
He worked for many years for the City of Kingston and Marine Midland Bank. Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed, tennis, running, and skiing. He especially enjoyed golf and was a long time member of Wiltwyck Golf Club. While a member of The Twaalfskill Golf Club he had a Hole In One on the difficult #3. Joe helped found Kingston Area Junior Football League and was a "die hard" New York Giants fan.
Joe is survived by his son John D. White of Kingston, his siblings, Robert and his wife Denise, of Roswell, GA, and Judith Flannery of Albany, NY, 7 nieces and nephews, and his dear friends, The Burgess Family (Kim & Jay). He is predeceased by his brother in law, Kyran Flannery.
Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Wednesday April 29th from 4pm to 7pm.
