Jonathan Aguirre

Jonathan Aguirre, 19, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026. He was born on May 31, 2006, in Kingston, NY, son of Elvis Garcia Aguirre and Maria Alejandra Barranco.

He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 2024. After graduation he worked for Mexico Lindo in Kingston, Joseph’s Steak House in Hyde Park, and Buffalo Wild Wings in Ulster. He has been attending Ulster County Community College, while working for Sam’s Club in Kingston.

“Jonny” was known as a great friend and person to everyone who got the chance to meet the person he was. He liked playing basketball, watching the Boston Celtics, playing video games, shopping for clothes, caring for his car, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always able to light up a room, no matter what had happened and was always able to make everyone laugh. His kindness and laughter will always be remembered by everyone that got to know the wonderful person he was.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Maria Alejandra Barranco, his father, Elvis Jose Garcia Aguirre, his brother, Joel A. Aguirre Barranco, he is also survived by, Abel Guerra, Elvia Guerra, Mario Aguirre, Alirio Aguirre, Jose Antonio Barranco and his wife Karla Chabla, Victor Hugo Rodriguez, and Karina Ramirez. He had many cousins and was very close to Christian and Jocelyn. He is predeceased by his brother Uriel Barranco and his aunt Guadalupe Barranco.

Arrangements are entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Monday January 12, 2026, from 4pm to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday January 13, 2026, at St. John's RC Church, 12 Holly Hills Drive, Woodstock, NY 12498.
