John D Edwards

John D Edwards, 61, of Kingston, passed Wednesday evening, November 8, 2017 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 6, 1955 in Kingston, the son of Joseph D Edwards and the late Mary Louise Hutton Edwards.

John was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1974 and had attended St. Leo University in Florida. For many years he was a rural route mail carrier for US Postal Service until his retirement.

In high school, John enjoyed athletics and exceled on the football, swim and ski teams. He continued his passion for athletics, and enjoyed skiing, scuba diving, BMX racing and snorkeling. His favorite sport became NASCAR and building race cars.
Above all, his main love and devotion was to his children, family, friends and his dogs.
In addition to his father he is survived by his loving family, children Ryan C Edwards and Cheyanne Lynn Edwards, his former wife, Peggy Porter, his sisters Lynn Hughes and her husband Bill and Kathryn Ostrander and her husband Stanley, his aunt Gail Edwards, nieces and nephews Bill Hughes, Megan Winne, Todd Hughes, Sara Bentley, Corey Ostrander, Jamie And Nigel Caprotti as well as several great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters Joanne O'Neil and Tracey Edwards.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave, Kingston, friends may call on Saturday from 2 - 4, with a Memorial service at 4 PM.
