We regret to announce the passing of John David Armstrong, Sr., of Kingston, New York, who sadly left us on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 12:46am. Son of the late Ethel & Hobart Armstrong, John Sr, was born in Kingston, NY on January 5, 1935. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley L. Armstrong, his five children, Bryan, Sonya, Sylvia, Sheila and John Jr., his brother, Hobart Armstrong Jr and countless grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John Sr. was the ultimate family man, a lover of baseball and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. In his younger days, you could always find him attending to the Armstrong family garden, home of the best tomatoes in Kingston!
John Sr. was a veteran and worked at IBM for 35 years and was truly loved and respected by all who knew him.
Our family is grateful to know that John Sr., our father, is finally at peace.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401 where family and friends may visit on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will be at 11am with burial to follow afterwards at Montrepose Cemetery.
