Joel Damian Rivera, 40, of Kingston, NY passed away tragically on the 22nd of October 2020 in a motorcycle accident in the jurisdiction of Hato Rey, San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Born in Bronx, NY on February 28, 1980, he was the beloved son of Lucy Guzman(Rivera) of Kingston, NY and the late José "Joe" Rivera of Bronx, NY, loving brother to Blake Rivera of Kingston, NY, Yvette Correa of Orlando, FL, Monique "Cuty" Rivera, José "Pito" Rivera, Jr., Alice Rivera, Tanya Rivera and Tammy Rivera all of Bronx, NY and Jamie Rivera of Tampa, FL.

In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Leila Rivera, her mother, Elena Weeks, a son, Kaleb Rivera, his mother, Jenna Johnson and his youngest son, Joel Damian Rivera, Jr. "JJ", along with his mother, Jessica Felton, all of Kingston, NY. Joel is also survived by his nephews Blake "Jordan" Rivera and Benci Rivera, and his nieces Brooklyn and Brynnly Rivera all of Kingston, NY, along with many other nieces and nephews he held dear to his heart. Joel was predeceased by his father, José "Joe" Rivera, his maternal great-grandmother, Berta Nogueras "Mamá", his paternal grandmother Maria Rivera, nephews David and Daniel Rivera and his niece Brielle Rivera.

Joel was a graduate from Kingston High School. He attended U.C.C.C. where he studied addiction counseling. He had formerly been employed at Ametek Rotron in Woodstock. Joel was a kind, generous and friendly soul who had a strong love for family and who was loved by many. He was caring and thoughtful and had a huge heart for everyone around him. In search of a better future for himself and for his children, he relocated to Gurabo, Puerto Rico. Joel's focus was family. He loved his children. He loved God and was raised as a Seventh Day Adventist and visited the Kingston Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm and also on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 10am to 11am.
