Jane Rogers

Jane Irene Rogers, 91, of Rhinebeck, N.Y. died August 28, 2012 at the Baptist Home at Brookmeade in Rhinebeck. Born at W 72nd ST Manhattan on July 9, 1921 and was raised on Staten Island, NY. She was a daughter of the late William & Sarah Gleason Heuer. Jane was a graduate of Port Richmond HS and worked as a young woman in the banking industry in NYC. She married Paul Rogers at the beginning of WWII. She lived on Staten Island until 1967 and then moved to Accord, NY where she lived until 1999. She was a wonderfully devoted mother of five children, three who were handicapped. She was active in Ulster-Greene ARC, The Baptist Home, and Saint Joseph's Novitiate. Jane had a never ending energy and drive to stand for her principals involving her faith, family and country. She is survived by four children, Janice Andrews and her husband David of Falmouth, ME, John Rogers and his wife Sue of Mankato, MN, sons Greg Rogers and Chris Rogers, both of Kingston. Nine grandchildren, Major James O'Brien stationed in FL, William O'Brien MD in Boston, Jocelyn Duke in Los Angeles, Katherine O'Brien of Portland, ME, Kathryn Brouilette MD in Portland ME and Carrie Andrews in Munich, Germany. Matthew, Michael and Megan Rogers all of Mankato, MN, and four great grandchildren, Matthew & Michael O'Brien and Peter & Clara Brouillette. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Paul Rogers who died on February 3, 2002 and her son Paul Rogers, Jr. who died in October 2001. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 5-8 PM, with the Rosary being said at 7:30 pm. A funeral procession will form at 9:30 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Novitiate Church in Round Top. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to The Baptist Home in Rhinebeck, 46 Brookmeade Drive, Rhinebeck, NY 12572 , Ulster-Greene ARC, 471 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 1240, in Kingston, or Saint Joseph's Novitiate in Round Top, 1275 Hearts Content Road, Round Top, NY. Jane had a long relationship with all three and they were a big part of her life.
