A Full Enriched Adventurous Life
James “Jim” Pasquariello of Hurley, NY died peacefully Sunday May 18, 2025 at the Health Alliance Hospital, Mary’s Ave Campus in Kingston NY. Born July 29, 1930 in Amsterdam NY, Jim was the first son of the late Tony & Olympia (Ammirati) Pasquariello. He's also predeceased by his loving wife Sadie of nearly 67 years and his brother Anthony Pasquariello of CT. As a teen, Jim enjoyed spending time with his neighborhood friends, fishing, playing hockey on the local creek and playing guitar in his school’s jazz band. He became a Boy Scout and achieved Eagle Scout honors. A graduate of Clarkson and Marist Colleges, he earned a degree in electrical engineering, and later enlisted in the US Air Force where he served as a specialized aerial photographer. After marrying Sept 4, 1954, his career at IBM led him to Battle Creek MI, then Saugerties NY and finally to Hurley.
As a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather—he enjoyed fishing, camping, playing guitar and ukulele, building and remodeling. Traveling was one of Jim's deep passions. His adventures included vacations with his family and close friends to Bermuda, The Bahamas, Aruba, Disneyland, Disney World, Niagara Falls, Narragansett Bay RI and all other New England states, Las Vegas NV, Nashville TN, Washington D.C., Southern California and Hawaii. He also fished remote lakes in Canada, accessible only by sea plane, and journeyed cross-country for a month-long Alaskan fishing trip. Known for his ingenuity and for being able to fix anything, he was grateful to have lived an enriched, fulfilled life.
Jim's adventurous spirit lives on in his family—his two children: Gary and Denise, two grandchildren: Nicolas and Kori, sisters Connie and Rose, brother Chaz, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at Keyser Carr Simpson Hammerl Funeral Home, 326 Albany Ave, Kingston Wed July 22, 2026 from 6pm-8pm with a brief memorial ceremony at 7pm. A full memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church of Ballston Spa, NY 167 Milton Ave on Thursday July 23 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Military with Honors ceremony at the US Saratoga National Cemetery. Family and friends are encouraged to dine at The Factory Eatery, 20 Prospect St, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 at 1:30 PM. The Keyser Carr Simpson Hammerl Funeral Home is honored to assist Jim's family with ceremonies and arrangements.
