James Lawson

James A. Lawson, 66, of Woodstock, NY, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY. He was born on October 1, 1959, in Kingston, NY, son of the late Donald and Carolyn (Cordes) Lawson.

James served his country in the US Navy from 1979 to 1983. He later owned and operated his plumbing business, Lawson's Water Solutions, for over 40 years. He was a member of the Woodstock American Legion Post #1026, where he had previously served as 1st Vice Commander and Sergeant-At-Arms.

He is survived by his wife and partner 33 years, Tina Gardecki of Woodstock, his brother, Christopher D. Lawson, Sr., and his wife Suzette of New Bern, NC, his nephew, Christopher D. Lawson, Jr., his step children, Jamie L. Gardecki of Austin, TX, Michael Gardecki of Albuquerque, NM, Jonathan Mead of Woodstock, NY, and Daniel C. Mead of Bearsville, NY.

The funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday October 18, 2025, at Christ’s Lutheran Church, 26 Mill Hill Road, Woodstock, NY 12498
