Helen Edge, 93, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 12, 1933, in Wallkill, NY, the daughter of the late Samuel and Daisy (Bell) Rose.

She was married to her loving husband of 61 years, Robert A. Edge. Robert passed away on December 5, 2024.

Helen enjoyed every waking hour with the “love of her life” her husband Bob.

She loved attending family events, children’s sporting events, picnics, and family vacations, as well as any opportunity to be with her loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Helen loved spending time at the pool or beach, as an avid sunworshipper. She loved her dogs, and raised several Irish Setters, and her West Highland Terriers. Most recently her devoted “shadow” Molly. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was affectionately called “Mema” or “Gigi” by the youngest children.

During her earlier years Helen worked at Britt’s Department Store for many years, and then at Ulster Community College. She also served with the Ulster County Elections as a voting inspector for many years in Kingston. Helen was a member of the Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY. Most of all, Helen loved spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were everything to her.

Helen is survived by her children, Susan Hollenzer and her husband Phil of Florida, Richard Robbins and his wife Irene of Wawarsing, Robert Edge Jr. and his wife Lori of Port Ewen, Barbara Hertle and her husband John of Kingston, her son in law, Steve Ferraro of Florida, her grandchildren, Dana Hollenzer, Julie Palleschi, Kimberly Berendt, Michele Ortiz, Samantha Robbins, Brittany Brocco, and John Hertle, IV, and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jeanne Patterson, several nieces and nephews, and William Smith who was like a son to Helen, as well as her beloved West Highland Terrier, Molly.

In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Ferraro, and her sister-in-law, Bernice Pritchard. Helen was also predeceased by her husband Charles R. Robbins.

Helen was predeceased by her siblings, six brothers, James, Ralph, Floyd, Richard, Samuel, and Robert Rose, as well as three sisters Sarah Geiselhart, Stella Nelson, and Ruth Eck.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday July 26, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday July 27, 2026, at 11am with burial following in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
